  • Objective: To equip students with the skills to become professional hairdressers, stylists, and salon operators, meeting the high demand for beauty services in Rwanda.

  • Curriculum Focus:

    • Hair Cutting & Styling: Techniques for various hair lengths and types, including modern and traditional styles.

    • Hair Care & Treatment: Knowledge of different hair products, conditioning, washing, and scalp treatments.

    • Coloring & Perming: Safe application of hair dyes and perms, understanding chemical processes.

    • Braiding & Weaving: Popular African hair braiding techniques and extension application.

    • Customer Service & Salon Etiquette: Developing communication skills, client consultation, and professional conduct.

    • Salon Management (Basic): Inventory, scheduling, and cleanliness for running a salon.

  • Hands-on Experience: Students practice on mannequins and each other, eventually providing services to the community under supervision in a simulated salon environment.

  • Career Prospects: Working in beauty salons, spas, or establishing independent hairdressing businesses, potentially offering mobile services or opening small salons.
